New visual identity for K9 patrol vehicles in Ghent police zone
The Ghent police force recently renewed its entire fleet of patrol vehicles for the K9 dog unit. Three robust Volvo XC90 Mild Hybrid SUVs replace the previous fleet after eleven years of loyal service. These new state-of-the-art vehicles, nicknamed ‘K9 Canis’, now serve as a symbol of safety, ergonomic efficiency, and comfort, both for the officers and their loyal four-legged partners. Zenith Graphics was entrusted with visually equipping these vehicles to the highest standards, with visibility and recognizability as the shared objective.

A Project Focused on Functionality and Visibility
The goal of this project was clear and powerful: to deliver a visually strong, functional, and recognizable design, tailored to the needs of the K9 team and the vehicle. Zenith Graphics provided the following visual components:
– Full Battenburg striping set (Level 3) for maximum visibility
– Fluorescent yellow reflective bumpers (Level 3), front and rear
– Internal contour markings for front and rear doors
– Contour marking for the inside of the tailgate
– Set of personalized zone logos
– Reactive rooftop-number with infrared visibility
All 100% compliant with the new Battenburg Police Policy.
Even in low visibility or complex environments, this combination guarantees recognizability and improved safety during interventions.
Coordination with Technical Performance and Comfort
The Volvo XC90s have been specially adapted to meet the demands of the K9 team’s work and operational load. Our branding was seamlessly aligned with the internal goals of the ‘Canis’ program: optimizing safety, ergonomics, comfort, and usability during long shifts and critical incidents. Alongside other project partners responsible for lighting, ballistic protection, onboard systems, and the vehicle itself, Zenith Graphics took care of the full execution of the visual identity, including material production and selection, and strategic placement.
